Mintal jointly unveils China’s First Cross-Megawatt Ammonia-Coal Intelligent Mixed Combustion Technology Test Platform at the 2024 International Hydrogen Energy Forum
On November 24, 2024, the International Hydrogen Energy Forum was successfully held in Beijing, gathering global experts and industry leaders to discuss the future of hydrogen energy. The forum was held under the guidance of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, Beijing Association for Science and Technology, Zhongguancun Science City Management Committee, and Beijing Tsinghua Industrial Development and Research Institute. The event was organized by the International Hydrogen Energy Center (IHEC) and the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association (IHFCA), with joint sponsorship from Beijing Jinyu Group Co., Ltd., Beijing Gas Group Co., Ltd., and the Society of Automotive Engineers of China
The forum featured speeches from distinguished figures, including Jin Qinxian, president of Beijing Tsinghua Industrial Development Research Institute and director of the International Hydrogen Energy Center; Miyao Takahiko, deputy director of the Beijing office for Japan New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Agency; David Giles, head of energy transformation at the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, David Waite, distinguished professor at the University of New South Wales, and Gunther Beger, executive director of Sustainable Development Goals Innovation and Economic Transformation Division at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization. Gan Yong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), also delivered a keynote speech.
Several industry experts delivered keynote presentations, including Professor Li Shuiqing, Vice Dean of the Research Institute and Professor at Tsinghua University’s Department of Energy and Power Engineering; Karim Fahsis, Director of Decarbonization Business at Maersk China; Zhou Lijuan, Assistant General Manager of Beijing Gas Group; Vincent Bruneau, Vice President of Environment and Sustainable Development at Schneider Electric, Cai Yi, Chief Solution Architect at Schneider Electric; Zhang Kai from TÜV Rheinland's Industrial Services and Information Security Business Group; Qi Jiuhong, Director and Assistant General Manager of Beijing Green Exchange Group.
At the forum, Mintal, in collaboration with Jinyu Group, Tsinghua University Research Institute and the International Hydrogen Energy Center, jointly unveiled "China's First Cross-Megawatt Level Ammonia-Coal Intelligent Mixed Combustion General Technology Test Platform".
The platform is designed to be highly versatile, compatible with various fuel systems such as ammonia-coal, ammonia-methanol, and ammonia-biomass coal blends. Combined with an intelligent control cloud platform, it can achieve dynamic data collection, real-time analysis, and has experimental data sharing capability. By integrating mechanistic models with big data analysis, the platform enables feedback for combustion system optimization, speeding up the iterative process for industrial experimental device design. The platform will serve as a third-party public service facility, offering support for research and development in green fuel and coal-mixed combustion technology, as well as services for coal types trial combustion used in various coal-fired scenarios such as power generation, cement production, kiln operations, and heating, in China.
In the future, Mintal will continue to maintain its edge in technological innovation, strengthen international cooperation and drive the ongoing advancement of hydrogen energy technology. This will further contribute to the development of a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient modern energy system.
