Second Hydrogen Energy Industry Development Forum
On August 25th, the second Hydrogen Energy Industry Development Forum of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, "Hydrogen Powers Inner Mongolia and Hydrogen Opens a New Future", was successfully held in Baotou City.
This forum is sponsored by the Energy Bureau of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the Baotou Municipal Government, organized by the Inner Mongolia Branch of the Bank of China and the Baotou Municipal Development and Reform Commission, and co-organized by the Inner Mongolia Hydrogen Energy Industry Association. With the theme of "Hydrogen Powers Inner Mongolia and Hydrogen Opens a New Future", the forum invited well-known experts, scholars, enterprisers and representatives of academic institutions in the field of hydrogen energy industry, focusing on frontier and hot topics including hydrogen energy technology development, hydrogen energy industry practice, hydrogen energy technology and industrial cooperation, etc., they shared wisdom and insights, and jointly studied industry development trends.
Ding Xiufeng, member of the Standing Committee of the Autonomous Region Party Committee and Secretary of the Baotou Municipal Party Committee, said that hydrogen energy is an important part of China’s future national energy system and one of the five new industries that Baotou focuses on developing. Baotou has abundant green power resources, concentrated innovative resources, broad application scenarios, and the unique advantage of industrial coupling of rare earths and hydrogen energy, which can provide solid support for the development of the hydrogen energy industry. We will adhere to the integrated development of wind, photovoltaic, hydrogen and storage, strive to stabilize the supply of hydrogen energy resources, improve the hydrogen energy storage and transportation network, promote the manufacturing of complete sets of hydrogen energy equipment and the development of hydrogen energy metallurgy and chemical industry, vigorously support enterprises to participate in scientific and technological research, and continuously expand hydrogen energy application scenarios ,optimize the industrial development ecology, strive to build a hydrogen energy industry cluster with larger scale and longer chain, so as too add more "hydrogen energy" to the development of modern energy economy in Inner Mongolia. We sincerely invite experts, scholars, and enterprisers to come to Baotou, invest in Baotou, and contribute to the development of Baotou’s hydrogen energy industry and other industries. We will continue to optimize the business environment that "guarantees satisfaction" and "guarantees peace of mind", join hands with everyone to join the mega trend of the hydrogen energy industry, and work together to create a better future.
Ge Haijiao, Chairman of Bank of China, said that Bank of China adheres to the complete, accurate and comprehensive implementation of the new development concept, continuously strengthens financial innovation, continues to improve products and services, and contributes to achieving the carbon peak and carbon neutrality goal and accelerating the construction of a nation strong in energy. Accelerating the development of the hydrogen energy industry is of great significance to China's goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality and building a more diverse, safe and efficient energy supply system. China is the world's largest hydrogen producer and consumer. Hydrogen energy has the characteristics of a long industrial chain and a long investment return period. Its financing demands are large and diverse, and financial support is indispensable. In order to further promote the high-quality development of the hydrogen energy industry with financial power, it is recommended to enrich financing channels, provide diversified credit products for different links of hydrogen energy production and consumption, and help companies issue green bonds by strengthening and improving the hydrogen energy industry development guidance fund and other ways to serve the development of the entire chain of the hydrogen energy industry; strengthen international cooperation. While supporting high-level "going out" and high-quality "bringing in", introduce more international capital through innovative green financial products, create a friendly global financing environment for hydrogen energy companies, support the global development of the hydrogen energy industry with risk control support, strengthen cooperation among governments, banks, insurance, financial leasing and other institutions, provide differentiated financial services to help the sustainable development of the hydrogen energy industry. Inner Mongolia has always been the "ballast stone" for ensuring my country's energy supply. In recent years, driven by the party committee and government of the autonomous region, Inner Mongolia has further become a hot spot for investment and business in the field of new energy. It has the "right time, right location, and right people" to become a highland of the national hydrogen energy industry. Bank of China will take this forum as an opportunity to further deepen friendly cooperation with the autonomous region government and all sectors of society, and make greater contributions to building a green and low-carbon energy system and achieving energy security and sustainable development.
Mo Yongbo, Vice Chairman of the Autonomous Region Government, said that in Inner Mongolia's construction of an important national energy base, new energy is the main battlefield, and hydrogen energy, especially green hydrogen, plays a decisive role. As one of the regions richest in clean energy in the country, Inner Mongolia has unique resource advantages and broad market prospects. To develop the green hydrogen industry, Inner Mongolia has abundant green power resources, abundant application scenarios, and a good policy environment. 2023 is the first year of green hydrogen development in Inner Mongolia. Inner Mongolia is making every effort to promote the development of the entire industry chain of green hydrogen including "production, storage, transportation and use", and strives to build an important national green hydrogen production and export base, a hydrogen energy equipment production and manufacturing base, a fuel cell heavy truck demonstration base, a green hydrogen diversified application base, and hydrogen energy technology research and development base. He warmly welcomed all experts and scholars to set their forward-looking eyes on Inner Mongolia, deploy innovative undertakings in Inner Mongolia, and transform research results into Inner Mongolia, so that more "flowers of science and technology" can bear fruitful "industrial fruits" in Inner Mongolia. We sincerely hope that all enterprisers will come to Inner Mongolia to set up and invest in businesses, so as to share the development opportunities of Inner Mongolia’s hydrogen energy industry.
In the keynote speech session, Tang Shuxian, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zheng Jinyang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Du Zhongming, president of China Electric Power Planing & Engineering Institute, and Chen Weidong, president of the Bank of China Research Institute, shared their insights on the topic respectively.

In the roundtable dialogue, Yi Peiyun, professor at the School of Mechanical and Power Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and chairman and general manager of Shanghai H-RISE Co., Ltd., Wang Jin, president of Inner Mongolia Zhenghe Hydrogen Energy Strategy Research Institute, and Fu Xiaolong, deputy director of the International Hydrogen Energy Center (General Manager of Mintal Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd.), Zhang Jinbin, Deputy Chief Engineer of China Electric Power Planing & Engineering Institute, Executive Director of the Energy Technology Innovation Research Institute, and Liu Wei, Vice president of the Baotou Rare Earth Research Institute, and General Manager of the National Rare Earth Functional Materials Innovation Center, Focusing on the theme of "The Situation and Path of High-Quality Development of the Hydrogen Energy Industry", the five guests discussed the development path of the hydrogen energy industry from multiple perspectives.
Witnessed by the leaders and guests present, the "Baotou Green Hydrogen Mixing Research and Pilot Project" jointly participated by Academician Tang Shuxian, Baotou Municipal Government, Mingyang Group, Inner Mongolia Zhonghao Gas Co., Ltd., and Inner Mongolia Western Natural Gas Co., Ltd. was launched. This forum simultaneously held a supply and demand matchmaking meeting for hydrogen energy enterprises in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to further promote the implementation and transformation of hydrogen energy scientific and technological achievements and promote the cooperation of supply and demand.
